About us
Poolewe Hotel is situated in the picturesque village of Poolewe on the shore of Loch Ewe near Gairloch on the NW Coast of Scotland, just 90 minutes drive from Inverness Airport where you can easily hire a car for the beautiful journey to Poolewe. Alternatively the nearest train station is Achnasheen, about 1 hr journey time from Inverness. From Inverness there are connections to the north and south with a daily direct train to London. There is also a sleeper service to Kings Cross Station.
Originally a coaching inn, (the principal building dates from 1570) the Poolewe Hotel has a long history of providing quality accommodation with the best in Scottish Highland hospitality.
During the second world war, senior naval personnel were accommodated here, as the great Arctic convoys were assembled in the loch itself before leaving for the ports of northern Russia.
